Day 35 in 100 Days of Doggie Paintings

Today I found a rare French painting of Tootsie Antoinette.  As you may know this French doggie was well known for her love of doggie cookies.  As you can see she is presented here in her feathers.  I must say I was rather surprised that she would be in her fine gown but did not bother to do her hair.  I always say that you can’t judge an old dog by it’s hat.

Day 26 in the 100 Day Challenge

Today's Painting is Paula Currie's Pompom as a Dancing Renior.
Her adorable little pup was perfect for this painting because it showed the little dog with a close up of her front legs.  This allowed me to paint using its arms, an important part of this work.  Thanks so much to Paula, I will be sending her a signed print of her pom.

Day 22 in 100 Days, 100 Paintings Challenge

Muttula was great fun to create!  I had a great picture of a pup that was basically black and white with huge feet.  It is going to be a big dog.  I added a bigger cloak shape at the bottom and the bottom of paws, a drippy background and we have Muttula.

Making a creation like this is part dog and part painting.  The dog is a big part of the inspiration,  Therefore, I need your help.  If Muttula had belonged to one of you I would have included a signed print in the mail.  Unfortunately, he is a pound puppy.  He is soo cute I hope that he finds a good home.   If you have a dog that you would like to see in one of my paintings then email me his picture and if inspiration leads me to create a painting, I will send you a signed print.  Send photos to profkenglish@gmail,com

If you would like to give Muttula a home, he is at the Granbury Animal Shelter.  Remember, there are thousands of dogs and cats who need a home like yours.

Day 21 in 100 Day Challenge

Little Angel Recommends Dogzilla.  Here was a fun choice, I have a green suit with photos of several smaller pups wearing it.  The new Godzilla movie and the 1990s picture basically does not show a monster in the movie poster, and it was silly to begin with so Dogzilla had to be the 1950's movie. I think that it was the best choice and I like the bright poster look and colors.

If you would like to help in my 100 day challenge, then email me your dog photos.  Thanks so much for your help!  profkenglish@gmail.com

Day 20 in the 100 Day Challenge

Gainsburgers Blue Basset, by Dr Theodore Bear is day twenty's version of the famous English painting by Gainsborough.  This was a fun piece to do and he is quite a lot stouter, just as a short little basset hound should be.
I plan to create 100 digital paintings in 100 days.  Each one takes quite a lot longer than one would think,  The big challenge will probably be coming up with new dog subjects for the paintings.  This was one of the basset puppies that Bill's dog WYSIWYG had.   It is quite a cute little guy.
If you would like to help, I really need new photographs of dogs.  I certainly am going to run out. If you have a photo that you would like to see in an artwork please send it to Profkenglish@gmail.com  I will be glad to send you a print.

Day 19 in 100 Day Challenge

The Boxer Brothers and Their Cat is the nineteenth painting in my 100 days of painting.  These delightful dogs belong to one of my students.  I looked for a painting that would use both of the dogs together.  I am not sure what they are thinking of doing with the cat, but it has a superiority type vibe to it.  The original painting had a crazy hat, and I decided that the piece would work better without the hat.  I like the character and expression of he main brother.  He has strong determination.

If you would like to help in the 100 painting challenge you too can send a photo of your pets to profkenglish@gmail,com

Day 18 in My 100 Day Challenge

My painting for today is King Rhino the IIIV.  Each day of the 100 days I plan to do a digital painting.  This one is of Rhino the Boston Terrier.  He made a wonderful king as seen here.  Although he is an extremely thin little dog, he had quite a lot of loose skin on his neck and  large square head, which allows him to appear to be quite large.  If you would like your pet to be part of my 100 day challenge you can send photos to profkenglish@gmail.com

Day 17 in the 100 Day Challenge

Today Dr. TheodoreBear lectures from The Greater London Dog Museum about the great Spaniel, Dedoggo Delassquez and the little pup Peekaboo.   I recognized this as a Velasquez right away. I believed that the pekingese pup would be good match for the subject.  I am attempting to create 100 similar works in 100 days.  To do this I need different subjects to work with.  You can help by sending me photos of your dogs.  In turn I will mail you a digital painting of your pet.  Please send your photos to Profkenglish@gmail.com

Day 16 in the 100 day Challenge

Today's painting is Miss Lollibear,  Daughter of Dr. Theodore Bear Painted by Pierre Poodle,
This painting of course is inspired by Renior,

If you have a favorite photograph of your dog, you can help.  I need dog-inspiration to create 100 paintings in 100 days,  You can send your photos to profkenglish@gmail.com

Thanks for your help.

Day 15 in the 100 Day Challenge

Today's image inspired me to create a dog warrior in a viking helmet,  Hank the hound is owned by one of my painting students, and I created this digital work based on this idea.  Many of my students create surreal fantasy works, and this digital painting follows in that style.  This is not based on any particular artist, but rather from a specific style.  I hope that you enjoy this warrior hound.

If you would like to see your dog featured in one of my paintings you can help me in creating my 100 days of dog painting challenge by sending me your dog's photo.  If I use your pet in one of my paintings I will send you a card sized print.  Please send your photos to profkenglish@gmail.com

Day 13 is Sweet Sophie by Dr. Theodore Bear

Sweet Sophie is my next painting in 100 days, 100 paintings.  This picture was emailed to my by one of my students and she is her lovely dog.  I too have had a lovely white poodle similar to Sophie.  She was a gift from my brother when I was very young.  I am very grateful to have this dog photo to work with.  It was a great help, and I will be mailing Megan a greeting card from Zazzle of this image.  If you would like to help you can send me a photo of your pet to profkenglish@gmail.com.

Day 12- Little Angel Features -Scarlett and Rhett

I had a lot of fun doing this poster.  The chihuahua is my friend's dog, Mimi, and the white lab is my neighbor's dog, Bear.

I plan to paint 100 paintings in 100 days using digital art software, Adobe Photoshop, cameras and a variety of Apps with my iPad.  If  you would like to see an artwork featuring your dog, please send your pictures to profkenglish@gmail.com
Your pet could inspire a story/artwork from Little Angel or Dr. Bear.

Pull out your tissues, Gone to the Dogs is a real tear-jerker!

Day Eleven

This is day eleven  in the 100 day painting challenge,  Today I saw a beautiful painting at the gas station and had to take his picture.  He was the perfect subject for the Remdog Painting on my Dr. Theodore Bear Webpage.
He certainly is a happy fellow, and posed really nicely in the back of his pick-up truck, with no barking at all.

If you would like a painting based on your dog please send your photo to profkenglish@gmail.com

Day 10 of the 100 day Challenge

This is my new painting in my 100 day challenge.  Tootsie Pop is my Chorky who just had her hair cut.  With her hair log she looks like a Yorkie, when it is cut short she looks Chihuahua,  I took her picture with the pearl necklace when I began this work.

If you would like me to use a picture of your dog please send it to Profkenglish@gmail.com
If I use it I will send you a greeting card of the painting.

Day Nine of the 100 days

Angelina recommends an old classic-

If there is something strange in your neighborhood...is the trash knocked over and claw sounds on your roof. Is something I thing waiting to leap out and claw you when you walk by?  Who are you going to call?

You can't go wrong with the original Cat Busters.  Get your Milkbones, turn down the lights and enjoy!

This is day nine of 100 dog paintings in 100 days.  If you would like to help then please send your dog photos to profkenglish@gmail.com and I will send you a greeting card featuring your pet if I use it in a digital painting.

Day Eight Features Redwig van Dogoven At Work

Imagine you discover you are the proud parents of a famous dog musician.  That's what Dogoven's parents discovered today. Young Dogoven is at work writing music.

The 100 day challenge is my attempt to paint 100 doggie pictures for Dr. Bear or Little Angel in 100 days.  If you send me a photo that I use to create a doggie artwork, I will send you a greeting card.  Please send all photos to Profkenglish@gmail.com

Dogoven, I hope that you and your family continue to make beautiful music together for a long time!

Day Seven in the 100 days of Painting Challenge

Today's painting presents Piggy in a wig!
Though we have all found humor in some of some statesman's fashion statements in hair, Dr. Bear reminds us that it was once quite fashionable to wear any variety of wigs as he discusses past Presidential Dogs.  However, though ridiculous and obvious a wig may seem today, you have to admit part of the appeal of this painting is the inclusion of the wig.  Piggy, named this because of her curly tail and round shape as a puppy, makes a definite fashion statement.

This is my seventh painting in a 100 days, 100 doggie paintings challenge.  If you would like to see how I  would use your dog in a work of art, send photographs to profkenglish@gmail.com.  Here is wishing you and your dog a good hair day.

Day Six of 100 Doggie Paintings

Little Angel Presents Ratman

This is day six in my 100 days of doggie paintings and I had to create an artwork in memory of Ratman.  Half-pint the rat terrier chihuahua mix was truly Ratman.  This quickly became his name as this was his real persona.  When we brought him home he crawled up the arm of my son's jacket to cuddle on his neck, so he appeared to be nothing but sugar.  Not True!  Ratman would take on anything and any one.  He was truly fearless.   He remains ever The Ratman in our memories.

If you have a photograph of your pet that you would like to have made into one of my artworks, please email it to profkenglish@gmail.com.  If I use it to make a doggie artwork I will send you the image in the form of a greeting card.
Thanks!   Kara
