Biography

Kara Butler English

I always wanted to write and illustrate books and created my first book in high school.  I also always wanted to teach, and become a college professor.  I am very lucky to have achieved both, and have been an art professor for over 20 years.    My goals now are to refine my illustration and writing skills and further develop this area.  I am available to teach workshops as well and will be teaching some workshops this fall in Granbury Texas, and still teach college art classes as well.
It may seem trite, but to me art is life.  My mom was a professional artist, and all of her family create some kind of art. When my older brother went to college at age forty, and took his first art course, he too fell in love with art and received an art degree.  My children also went this direction as well and if you study with me, be warned, you are at risk to fall in love with art!
