I spend a great deal of time enjoying art work which inspires me to think, to wonder, to marvel, and to create. This will be devoted to art and artists, young and old, trained and beginners, who desire and inspire. What inspires you? Without inspiration can we create? My recommendation for you to day is The Artists Network, (see link below) a wonderful place to learn!

Day 78 in My 100 Day Challenge
Hound Dog Brown is one of America's most skilled painters of pups, especially hard digging, cheerful street urchins who earned a pittance as boot blacks, newspaper vendors, to name a few. In some dog homes, he was dubbed the "Boot Black Doggael" because of the glowing faces of his puppy figures and his skill of painting. His paintings of these sympathy-arousing doggies were so popular in a Victorian era of increased industrialization that he became a boneified boneiare from painting sales as well as royalties from lithographs. Who wouldn't give a bone for this tail wagging painting of Dog Boys New York.

Day 76 in my 100 Day Challenge
Self Portrait of Aldogt Durer
Here is a wonderful self-portrait by the famous German Aldogt Durer. Durer is best known for his paw-prints of various types. He shows himself here as a prosperous young dog in the prime of life. It is apparent that he has a lot of bones. I think we all can wag our tails at this painting.

Day 74 in my 199 Day Challenge
Every once in a while we all like a painting just because of the subject. This little painting, “All Cats Cheat” is that for me. I howled with laughter over the Bulldog with the cigar. He of course has an excuse because all cats cheat. It is good to have a bone to bury once in a while.

Day 73 of my 100 Day Challenge
The Unseeing Chihuahua
This is a lovely puppy painting of two sisters, one of whom is a musician. They are resting by the roadside after a rainstorm. One stops to look at the rainbow, and the second does not or can not see the beauty around her. This painting reminds us to stop and sniff the day!

Day 71 in my 100 Day Challenge
Today Dr. Bear Found a Rousseau. It has been challenging to keep up with this and my online classes while we explore galleries and take pictures in Taos, Santa Fe and Colorado. Tomorrow we head out to Cloudcroft and my online classes are fin! Time to paint.
As you may remember I am a great fan of the incredible self taught genius Henri Dousseau. This talented doggie has done it again. The Sleeping Shepard is another painting that grabbed my attention like a hot piece of bacon. The terrified Shepard, sleeping with his flock has met up with much more than he counted on. You can almost feel the hot breath of the lion. This is what makes Dousseau such a wonderful artist.

Day 70 of my 100 Day Challenge
Today as Tootsie Pop, I gave homage to Shepard Fairey's Obey Giant series.
MISSING HUSKY
Is famous wrestler missing? Today across Doggiewood mysterious posters popped up on walls, newsstands, signs and just about everywhere. The poster asks "Where is Dogdrey the Giant?" In case you have been hiding under a bone, Dogdrey the Giant is a Professional Wrestler with numerous World Wide Dog Wrestling Heavy Weight Championships.
This pooper-scooper wants to know what happened to this Giant Husky. Why is he missing? Did he wonder off, or maybe he was dog-napped. What in the chew-toy happened to poor Dogdrey?
Here's hoping for answers~ Tootsie Pop

Day 68 of the 100 Day Challenge
This day's painting is of Little Peggie Princess
Who wouldn’t like the painting of Peggie Princess by Ruff Rufus. This lovely Yorkie was greatly loved by many of her suitors. She is shown here tending her roses in her family garden. Ruff Rufus, one of the first American writers as well as artist was a great admirer of the little Yorkie. I certainly can see why–wooof.

Day 66 in my 100 Day Challenge
Today's painting is a Doggiewood Star of Stage and Film, Beauty Bulldog.
Will Grieving Widow Soon Take the Wedding Plunge?
Today Doggiewood film star Beauty Bulldog, best known for her role as Baby, in As Dogs Like It by William Dogspear had her good name buried in the dirt. Beauty was seen at the Brown Doggie with a married Dog! The Dirt is flying for more than a few buried bones.
The newly widowed Beauty has been missing from Doggiewood for the last two months. Is the popular howler Freddie Hunter, who happens to be married to that beautiful blond, Gracie Jack Russell, the cause? It took more than howling to distract Beauty from her grief, for this is a relationship that has gone on for some time, much more than just one innocent bowl of chow.
This doggie writer wonders if it will be splitsville foe the long marries couple and wedding vows for Beauty and Freddie. Always Your Pooper Scooper~Tootsie Pop
